A decade after their debut album “After Robots”, BLK JKS are returning with their sophomore release “Abantu / Before Humans”.

BLK JKS are a seminal force in the South African underground. After an extended hiatus the Johannesburg foursome, championed by The Mars Volta and TV On The Radio (amongst many others), returns with a groundbreaking new album. 

Monster grooves meet guitar and brass-driven afro-rock. 

This version of the release was originally made available to South African audiences on 16 June 2020 as a limited edition of 300 units, with an option of 180g Black vinyl or Green/Black coloured vinyl. The album package contains an exclusive hand-numbered inlay postcard photographed by Brett Rubin. 

Echoes of spiritual jazz, post-apocalyptic funk, renegade dub and kwaito.
